Resident Evil 6 takes place in December 2012 in the fictional country of Edonia. Albert Wesker's son lives on and joins up Raccoon City survivor Sherry Birkin. Chris Redfield and his team continue to fight biohazards while Leon Kennedy and Helena Harper witness the transformation of one of the most powerful men in the world and are forced to join the fight. But will the Chinese city of Lanshiang prove to be more than their match with various bioterrorist groups aligning attacks all around the world?

Each scenario follows one of three main protagonists - Leon S. Kennedy, Chris Redfield and Jake Muller. The player characters from each scenario will have their own partners which, in a similar fashion toResident Evil 5, are controlled by either the computer AI or another human player via local or online multiplayer. When playing in single player, the player can allow another player to join in online at any time.A fourth scenario is unlocked after the player has finished the other three, in which the player controlsAda Wong(without a partner). - Controls now allow for aiming while walking along with sprinting and rolling.
- A skills system similar to the one in Revelations.
- Hunt Mode allows you to be the Zombie and take down agents
- Infinite Ammo mode that you can turn on or off before any campaign (thanks freedomfreak)
- Online still has the same drop-in and out co-op from Resident Evil 5 although you can play through the Lone Wolf mode. Some sections even involve four players at once.
- Split screen returns on consoles.
- New Game +, or where you can play the story again with upgrades on a harder difficulty level, returns.
- Mercenaries mode returns.
- Resident Evil.NET is a new comprehensive website allowing you to track your and your friends' stats. If someone beats your Mercenaries score, you get an alert. You can get unlocks for Mercenaries mode here along with participating in contests. Starts in October and is free.

DLC - 360 exclusive first
"Resident Evil 6will add three timed-exclusive game modes for the Xbox 360 after the zombie shooter launches next month, according the game'sXbox.com landing page. Atweetfrom the official Resident Evil 6 Twitter account reveals that these modes will be called Survivors, Predator, and Siege.
It is not clear how long these modes will be available only for the Xbox 360, and at the time of press, Microsoft had not responded to GameSpot's request for comment.
In the game's Survivors mode, when killed, players will respawn as an enemy character able to attack human players. Predator mode has one player taking on the role of the Ustanak, trying to take down human players. Lastly, Resident Evil 6's Siege mode has one side protecting a single non-playable character pitted against enemies attempting to kill that NPC.
Survivors, Predator, and Siege modes will support up to six players on maps from the game's Mercenaries mode.
The new game modes for Resident Evil 6 will not be the only timed-exclusives for the Xbox 360. In June during Microsoft's 2012 Electronic Entertainment Expo briefing, the company announced that downloadable content for Resident Evil 6 willcome first to the Xbox 360."
